Grade 6
1. Continue studying for tomorrow’s test on the vocabulary for Unit 1. Remember to bring your flashcards with you for the extra credit!

2. Go to my wiki (remember you can link from this page – it’s on the right menu bar). Write at least 2 sentences for your assigned word. Remember to use each type of context clue for a total of 4 possible sentences. You may write more than 2 sentences!

Grade 8
In your Handbook, complete the exercises on pages 252 and 255, #1-10 in each exercise. Also complete the Proofreading exercise that begins on page 255 and ends on page 256.

September 17, 2008

Grade 6 –
1. Unit 1 Vocabulary test and Spelling Quiz on Friday. Remember to make flashcards and bring them in on test day!

2. Complete both sides of the “Riddle Me” worksheet.

Grade 8 –
1. Unit 1 Vocabulary test is tomorrow.

2. Create a vocabulary puzzle to review the synonyms and antonyms in unit 1. You may use www.puzzlemaker.com or you may create your own puzzle on paper.

6th Grade –
1. Complete p. 26 in your vocabulary workbooks. Highlight the context clues!
2. Optional – create flashcards for your vocabulary words. You will be able to use them to study, and if you bring them with you on the day of the test (September 19) you will earn 5 points extra on your test!

8th Grade –
1. Write sentences for Unit 1 words. Be sure to include 2 context clues for each word. Highlight the context clues.
2. Review the notes on the short story from class today.
