BPB ACE Question 1
What can you infer about Belle’s disappearance from the events that occurred in Chapters 1 & 2. Use specific events from chapters 1 & 2 ONLY to support your predictions of what might have occurred that lead to Belle’s disappearance.
Remember that if you have read ahead, you are NOT to give away any details! Telling the ending of the story is NOT the same as making a prediction!!

Sesame Street has decided that the Cookie Monster was a bad influence on children. As a result, they created the Veggie Monster in the hope that he would influence children to eat more healthy food choices. What do you think? An elementary school principal at an imaginary school has considered canceling recess for grades one through five, so children will spend more time in the classroom. The principal wants to know how older students feel about this suggestion. Do you agree or disagree with this idea? Do you think that canceling recess is a good idea?

Imagine that as a result of complaints by some students that the school lunch break is too short, the student council has proposed a new schedule to the principal that would add 10 minutes to lunchtime. This proposal would also result in a later dismissal time at the end of the day. Imagine that the principal is asking students to write letters supporting or opposing this proposal. Think about the effect this would have on you and students in your school. What are the advantages? What are the disadvantages? What is your point of view? The novel is being narrated by Gypsy, which means that she is telling the story. Think back to the incident at the movies. How would the story have been different if we had heard about it from Porter’s point of view? Write a paragraph describing the incident at the movies as if Porter was describing the sequence of events to Love, Granny, and Grandpa.
